LEED® Certification distinguishes building projects that have demonstrated a commitment to sustainability by meeting higher performance standards in environmental responsibility and energy efficiency. This unbiased rating system is administered by The Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC), a body that accelerates the design and construction of green buildings in Canada. The Council is a broad-based inclusive coalition of representatives from different segments of the design and building industry.
In 2006 Minto was recognized with LEED® Canada Certification Silver Rating for its newly completed 34 storey condominium residence, MintoGardens in Toronto. This achievement marks the first and only multi-unit residential building in Canada to receive LEED® certification, a distinction that truly demonstrates Minto's commitment to the environment.
